Posture Alignment Therapy
Learn how to use exercises as tools to eliminate and reduce common symptoms
What is Posture Alignment Therapy?
Posture alignment therapy is a corrective exercise regimen based off of your specific posture. It uses a specific sequence of movements and positions to work as effectively as possible by unlocking stubborn muscles.
Unlike treatments like Physical Therapy, it treats pain in regards to the whole body, not just the symptom. Since the muscles control what the bones do, we can reeducate muscles to realign our structure, therefore relieving pain. As a specialist, I look at the biggest deviations in your posture and go from there. Together, we straighten and THEN strengthen.
What does a typical session look like?
A full assessment of posture and function including:
-Posture evaluation
-Gait analysis
-Various movement and functional tests
2. From the results of the assessment, I will create a menu of exercises, using PTX Therapy software, that we will go through together. The finalized menu is assigned as homework to do every day until the next session. This is completely customized to your unique posture and the amount of time you can devote to this therapy each day. (Even a little time can do a lot!)
3. Provided you have been consistent with your exercises at home, we will re-evaluate in the next appointment and assign new exercises to continue the alignment process.
Benefits include, but are not limited to:
-reduced pain
- injury recovery
-prevention of future injuries
- increased range of motion and mobility
-increased athletic performance
-enhancement of current workout or recovery regimens
-lifelong tools to heal yourself on your own
-improved aesthetics (decrease hunchback, rounded shoulders, bunions, knock-knees, forward head, etc…)
After photo shows:
Less hip rotation
Balanced hip elevation
More even weight distribution between feet
Less offset in the trunk
… Imagine how much better her body feels throughout her daily activities!
*PLEASE NOTE: As much as I would love to "fix" you in one session, this therapy is not a quick-fix. Exercises create a chain reaction throughout your body which takes time to reeducate making it a more effective, long-term solution. It requires your commitment and dedication to the process of healing without drugs, surgeries, braces, adjustments, special pillows, and so on.*
